London, UK (ePressReleases.org) Aug 3, 2012 - The capital city of England, which this year has already been enlivened by the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, now prepares for its biggest challenge yet - the London Olympics 2012.
The Olympic torch is currently making its way around the UK, scheduled to arrive in London for the opening ceremony of the Olympics on 27 July. The closing ceremony is planned for nearly three weeks later on Sunday 12 August. Some students have been lucky enough to secure tickets for certain events, but most will join fellow students and teachers to watch the proceedings in good cheer on the TV.
While there are no public holidays planned to coincide with the Olympics, the traditional Monday bank holiday at the end of August is scheduled for Monday 27 August. This will be the last public holiday in the UK calendar until the traditional Christmas and Boxing Day holidays in December, although the country did have an extra public holiday earlier in the year for the Queen's jubilee celebrations.
UIC London likes to help students and their families keep track of holidays and special occasions. Therefore UIC has published the details of the remaining 2012 public holiday, and the dates from 2013 on its website earlier this month. The French classes London students plan to attend in 2013 will all be carefully timetabled around the public holidays to maximise work and play time.
Not only are UIC gearing up for the Olympics, they have also recently undergone the first of their inspections by the ISI (Independent School Inspectorate) and passed with flying colours. Director David Wilkins is keen to make clear that our language school: UIC London has passed every inspection scheme which has been introduced. This shows that we take the quality of our offerings very seriously, and are able to offer the absolute best level of language education available in the UK.
About UIC:-
UIC was founded in 1997 and gained British Council Accreditation in 1999. The language school has remained true to its values and has always maintained that serious language learning must be fun and enjoyable. UIC prides itself on its mature environment. The school offers English classes to adults and residential vacation courses for children and teenagers in the summer. It also teaches foreign languages in London and other locations throughout the UK. |
